Call To Artists

Criteria for This Exhibit: Artworks to showcase landmarks as the focus of the work, whether big or small, natural or man-made. Open subject, medium, and style for 2D, 3D, and jewelry.

Entry Deadline: Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

Artist Intake: Friday, February 23 and Saturday, February 24, by appointment.

Artist Pickup: Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23, 2024, by appointment.

Curator Dr. Milagros Bello holds a Ph.D. in Sociology with a doctoral thesis in Sociology of Art from Sorbonne University (Paris VII-Jussieu), Paris, France. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a major in Clinical Psychology at the Central University of Venezuela. She followed master’s courses in Family and individual Counseling in her country of origin, Venezuela. Dr. Bello is an art critic member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) and a Member of the Venezuelan National Federation of Psychologists. She is an independent curator who currently leads MIA Curatorial Projects (former Curator’s Voice Art Projects founded in 2010 in Wynwood Art District, Miami). From 2010 to the present, Dr. Bello has curated numerous shows in contemporary art nationally and internationally. Outstandingly, in April 2022, in the context of the 59th Venice Biennale, she curated the exhibition “Americans. Current Imaginaries.” which runs until November 2022 at the European Cultural Center in Venice, Italy. On June 30, 2022, she lectured on the same topic at Personal Structures/Reflection at the European Cultural Center in Venice, Italy. She is an art writer for local and international art magazines and a former Senior Editor of Arte Al Dia International art magazine. For fourteen years, from 2000-2014, she has taught as a professor of art in diverse theoretical areas of expertise, such as Critical Theories, History of Art, History of Modern and Contemporary Photography, Sociology, and graduate and undergraduate levels at Americans universities, the Florida International University (FIU), Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Miami International University (The Art Institute/Miami), and the Istituto Marangoni/Miami.
