Annual Members Exhibit – 74th Anniversary

Location: Broward County Main Library, Gallery 6, 100 South Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301

 

Gallery Hours: Mon. & Wed., 12pm-8pm; Tue., Thurs., Fri. & Sat., 10–6pm. Closed Sun.

 

About This Exhibit: Members of the prestigious Broward Art Guild, the oldest art guild in Broward County, will display paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, mixed media, and jewelry at this family-friendly event.

 

Opening Reception: Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00pm. Join us to cast a ballot for the People’s Choice award.

 

Exhibit Run Dates: October 3 – 29, 2024

 


Call For Artists:

 

Criteria for This Exhibit: Open subject, medium, and style for 2D, 3D, and jewelry. You must be a member to enter your three best artworks, 60” or smaller. If any of your art is larger than 41” in height or width, it will count as two pieces. (Broward Art Guild Members only, but you can join prior to submitting entry form.) Artwork cannot have been shown at Gallery Six previously for any organization. Artwork must be appropriate for viewing by all ages. Bring your best! Members can submit up to 3 pieces, and all will display as long as they meet the criteria.*

 

This venue will not display works containing sexual themes, profanity, overly political, nor religious statements that may be deemed offensive. Works should be for family viewing.

 

This venue displays 3-D works in closed cases that have a 21″ height and 18″ wide maximum. Please take this into consideration if entering 3-D works.

 

Entry Deadline: Wednesday, September 18, 2024.

 

Artist Intake: Wednesday, October 2, 2024, 4:00 – 7:00 (no appointment necessary).

 

Artist Pickup: Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 4:00-7:00pm

 

 

Meghan Pearsoni

About the Judge, Meghan Pearson

 

A Florida native, Meghan Pearson studied at Ringling College (School) of Art and Design in Sarasota where traditional drawing and painting were her favorite subjects. Prior to graduation, she received a full-time position as a Line Designer/Art Director at American Greetings at their Cleveland, Ohio headquarters.

 

She joined the faculty at the AutoNation Academy of Art + Design at the Museum of Art|Fort Lauderdale (now the NSU Art Museum) where she worked for four years, eventually becoming the Chair of Graphic Design.

 

Design and photography have since become her prevalent forms of creative expression, though she still enjoys the opportunity to draw and paint. Meghan is the Owner/Designer of Yellow Pear Designs in Wilton Manors, FL.

 

* The only exception is in the event of space considerations.
