Winter Spectacular Salon – Open Theme Exhibit

New Year…New Art. Start off the year right with this open theme exhibit showcasing fresh creations from the local art community. Paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, mixed media, and jewelry will be on display.

Location: Broward Art Guild Gallery, 3280 NE 32nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308

Gallery Hours: Wed., Fri., Sat., noon-9pm; Thurs., noon-6pm

Opening Reception: Saturday, January 6, 2024, 5:30-8:30pm. Join us to cast a ballot for the People’s Choice award.

Exhibit Run Dates: December 20, 2023 – January 19, 2024

Call To Artists

Criteria for This Exhibit: Artworks do not have to reflect the season. At least one of your entries will be accepted. Open subject, medium, and style for 2D, 3D, and jewelry.

Entry Deadline: Fri., December 8, 2023 (extended).

Artist Intake: Fri., December 15, 2023, and Sat., December 16, 2023, by appointment.

Artist Pickup: Fri., January 19, 2024, and Sat., January 20, 2024, by appointment.

Dr. Timothy LeistnerAbout the judge, Dr. Timothy Leistner

Timothy Leistner is an artist, author, lecturer, and educator. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ohio University; and a Master of Science and Doctorate in Education from Nova Southeastern University. He also attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and studied at the Chicago Art Institute on an art/work scholarship. He is the founder of the “Art Intended for All” art education program for adults with special needs in Fort Lauderdale. He has won many awards, including Broward County’s Teaching Artist of the Year, the Joseph Leavitt Award for Commitment to the Arts, New Times Broward/Palm Beach’s Best Visual Artist, Individual Leadership for the Arts, and Artist of the Year for Community Impact. He was also selected as one of the Faces of the Arts in Broward County.
