Art Squared Exhibit

Presenting a sea of works all within square constraints. We challenge artists to showcase their uniqueness and talent while all working no larger than 48” square.

 

Location: Broward Art Guild Gallery, 2052 E Oakland Park Blvd., Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33306

 

Gallery Hours: Wed., Fri., Sat., noon-9pm; Thurs., noon-6pm

 

Opening Reception: Saturday, September 7, 2024, 5:30-8:30pm. Join us to cast a ballot for the People’s Choice award.

Call To Artists

 

Criteria for This Exhibit: Artworks to be in square format. Any subject, any medium, as long as it’s square and no larger than 48″ x 48″!

 

Entry Deadline: Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

 

Artist Intake: ONLY Saturday, August 31, 2024, by appointment.

 

Artist Pickup: Friday, September 20, from 2:00 – 4:00pm, and Saturday, September 21, 2024, from Noon – 2:00pm.

 

Michael BelconAbout the judge, Michael Belcon

Michael Z. Belcon, NSU Art Museum’s Wege Foundation Assistant Education Curator is a multi-disciplined artist and art educator, his practice focuses on exploring methods of print media, digital media, painting, drawing, and sculpture. He works to facilitate the arts through education into his raison d’être or reason for being. His recent series Exercise is an ongoing video animation project which actively gathers and showcases a mark-making lexicon that is physically produced, and digitally transformed. Born on December 15th, 1993, in Toronto, Canada, he attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and graduated with a BFA in 2016. Belcon works as a curator of education in the arts in South Florida.
