Not Normal Times brings together the work of Katya Ostheimer and Nicholas Potter—two artists with radically different backgrounds and approaches, united by a willingness to look beyond the obvious.

Potter’s fantastical, politically charged paintings and works on paper populate alternate worlds with anthropomorphic characters, challenging ideas about identity, culture, and belonging. Ostheimer draws on a lifetime of artistic exploration, moving between watercolor, ink, painting, decorative arts, and restoration, while bringing an unusual perspective shaped by both art and computer science.

This isn’t art as escape.

It’s art as resistance to the idea that things have to stay the way they are.

When the times are not normal, maybe the answer isn’t to return to normal. Maybe it’s to imagine what comes next.
