Tips to improve the presentation of your body of artwork for submission and promotion.

From online entries, to galleries, to public calls, learn how and what you should know to present yourself right!

Lark Keeler  is the former Curator of Education at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami and former Lead Art Instructor and Faculty Liaison at NSU Art Museum, Fort Lauderdale. Currently she is an educator at NSU Art Museum and visual art instructor at Saint Andrew's School. Over the past 17 years Lark Keeler has taught visual arts in schools and in museums, working with students of all ages and abilities throughout the communities of Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade.  Ms. Keeler was  awarded  Museum Educator of the Year in 2010 and since has participated in the National Guild for Community Arts Education Leadership Institute, the National Art Education Association's School for Art Leaders, and received a certification in Mindfulness Fundamentals.  She is serving as the Florida Art Education Association's President-Elect, Secretary for the National Caucus for the Spiritual in Art Education and  the Florida State Delegate to the National Art Education Association.

A Two-Part Workshop Series by Neo-Pop Artist Ed King

Part 1: Branding - Thu., Sep. 21 st , 2017 from 7-9pm

Part 2: Advertising & Marketing - Thu., Sep. 28 th , 2017 from 7-9pm

• The workshops will guide you to better communicate to both niche and broad markets

• Learn the differences of Branding, Marketing, and Advertising and how each of those work to give you more exposure while communicating your values and worth to new potential clients

• Attendees will experience a “hands-on” workshop to build their own brand, develop a marketing and an advertising strategy, and identify free and paid marketing vectors to achieve success

• Gain the knowledge to leverage your editorial press exposure as a bonafide marketing tool across multiple platforms to gain more attention and more fans + followers

 Ed King’s career in marketing and with ad agencies was preceded with top marks and awards at Orange High School’s college level Commercial Art program as well as International Fine Arts College. King has worked as a graphic designer, art director, and creative director for various ad agencies. He has also taught classes as Miami Ad School, the Bass Museum of Art, Art Center South Florida, and The Motivational Edge.

He later founded Ed King Pop Art where for over twelve years King marketed EKPA like an agency client leading to awards, recognition in the press, and multiple sales to his numerous collectors worldwide. King is a force in the South Florida art scene and has been recognized as one of the top creative minds in South Florida by SoFi Magazine and was also named as one of the top five pop artists in Miami by Miami Art Zine. In 2016, he also won “Best in Show” at the Carnaval on the Mile Art Festival.

King’s most current works are from the series, “Republic Enemy.” The incendiary and political nature of the project attracted both press and hate mail throughout exhibitions at the African Heritage Cultural Art Center in Liberty City, the Museum of Impact in New York, and in Fort Lauderdale at the  “What’s Your Elephant” exhibition and later at the Broward Art Guild’s “VENT” show.

Most Recently, King went back to his agency roots by joining ArtServe as the advertising coordinator of the Cooperative Marketing Program which serves the marketing needs of over 90 unique cultural non-profit organizations. Everyday, he fiercely advocates on behalf of the clients he represents while simultaneously acting as a full throated ambassador for ArtServe’s mission to assist in turning artist’s passion into a business.
